How do I get my real estate license in Hawaii?

Here are 7 the Steps to becoming a licensed realtor in Hawaii:

  1. Enroll in a Prelicensing Course with a Hawaii-registered real estate Prelicense School, such as Hawaii Institute of Real Estate.
  2. Create a MyPVL Account
A MyPVL account is necessary when signing up for a prelicense course. Information provided in your account is often used to deliver the course completion certificate, which is required when sitting for the real estate examination. MyPVL is also a new home for all PVL licensees to access information and services 24/7 from a single dashboard. To access MyPVL, “Sign Up” for a free eHawaii.gov Account to get started or “Log In” with your existing eHawaii.gov account.
  3. Successfully complete a 60-hour Hawaii salesperson prelicensing course
  4. Schedule exam reservation with PSI Services, LLC. (psiexams.com). The nearest testing center is less than a mile from Hawaii Institute of Real Estate.
  5. PASS the the Hawaii Real Estate License Exam (both the National and State portion).
  6. Submit a complete application for a Hawaii Real Estate Salesperson’s license to the Department of Commerce & Consumer Affairs. This must be done within two (2) years of passing the Hawaii salesperson’s examination.
  7. Once the Department of Commerce and Consumer affairs reviews and approves your complete license application, you will receive a Hawaii real estate salesperson’s license. Congratulations!
