How do I get my real estate license in Hawaii?

Here are 7 the Steps to becoming a licensed realtor in Hawaii:
- Enroll in a Prelicensing Course with a Hawaii-registered real estate Prelicense School, such as Hawaii Institute of Real Estate.
- Create a MyPVL Account
A MyPVL account is necessary when signing up for a prelicense course. Information provided in your account is often used to deliver the course completion certificate, which is required when sitting for the real estate examination. MyPVL is also a new home for all PVL licensees to access information and services 24/7 from a single dashboard. To access MyPVL, “Sign Up” for a free eHawaii.gov Account to get started or “Log In” with your existing eHawaii.gov account.
- Successfully complete a 60-hour Hawaii salesperson prelicensing course
- Schedule exam reservation with PSI Services, LLC. (psiexams.com). The nearest testing center is less than a mile from Hawaii Institute of Real Estate.
- PASS the the Hawaii Real Estate License Exam (both the National and State portion).
- Submit a complete application for a Hawaii Real Estate Salesperson’s license to the Department of Commerce & Consumer Affairs. This must be done within two (2) years of passing the Hawaii salesperson’s examination.
- Once the Department of Commerce and Consumer affairs reviews and approves your complete license application, you will receive a Hawaii real estate salesperson’s license. Congratulations!
