STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The New York State Department of Civil Service (DCS) has released its August application schedule for New York’s entry-level civil service exams.
The open-competitive exams are an opportunity to start a career with New York State. These tests are open to anyone who meets the qualifications listed on the examination announcement.
The application period opened for the following exams: budget examiner; campus safety specialist; employment counselor; employment counselor (Spanish language); fire & safety representative; Medicaid eligibility examiner 2; medical assistant specialist 2; nutrition services administrator 1; nutrition services administrator 2; principal laboratory animal caretaker; recreation program leader 1; senior laboratory animal caretaker; social work assistant 3; social work assistant 3 (Chinese language); social work assistant 3 (Spanish language); utility analyst 2 (environmental).
Interested applicants can apply online for budget examiner, Medicaid eligibility examiner 2 and medical assistant specialist 2 by Aug. 23. All other exams have a deadline to apply online by Sept. 6.
Additionally, exams that opened last month have a deadline of Aug. 14: assistant workers compensation examiner; assistant workers compensation examiner (Spanish language); business services center representative 1; employee insurance examiner 1; workers compensation examiner; workers compensation examiner (Spanish language).
